Behavior of rice genotypes in preliminary test with yield potential at the Juma Experimental Station.

The yield of a variety of rice depends on its production potential, resistance to pests and diseases, adaptability to the environment and agronomic practices. The objective of this research was to evaluate the behavior of genotypes with potential performance in preliminary tests. Twelve genotypes were evaluated: G1=J3465-5-1-1-1-1, G2=J3465-5-1-1-1-3, G3=J3460-1-4-2-1-3, G4=J3460 -1-4-2-1-4, G5=J3460-1-4-2-1-5, G6=J3460-1-4-2-1-6, G7=J3460-1-4-2-2 -1, G8=J3460-1-4-2-2-2, G9=J3467-3-3-1-1-1, controls (G10, Juma 642, G11, Jaragua and G12, Juma 68-18). A randomized complete block design with three replications was used. The experimental units measured 26.24m2 and a useful area 10m2. For data analysis, the InfoStat 2017 program was used and comparisons by Test: LSD Fisher at 0.05 significance. The variables were studied: panicles per plant, yield (kg/ha), panicle fertility (%), whole grains (%) and thousand grain weight (g). The treatments showed highly significant differences (Prob>F=0.0004) for the variable panicles per plant. The G9 reached 22 panicles, obtaining the highest amount in relation to the genotypes and being equal to the controls G10 and G11. For yield, the treatments also presented highly significant differences (Prob>F=0.0001); the G2 and G9 presented 7890.1 and 9124.8 kg/ha, surpassing the controls G10, G11 and G12. Regarding whole grains, six genotypes (4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9) were the same as controls G11 and G12. In the mass of a thousand grains (g), highly significant differences were found (Prob>F=0.0001); genotypes 1, 2 and 8 had a mass of 1000 grains equal to the control G12; and superior to witness G11. The G2, G4 and G9 genotypes showed a behavior of high yield potential in relation to the controls, this suggests the continuity of this research in a regional test.
