Although an exact description of cassava`s growth habits and development is difficult because it is a perennial plant with many ideotypes whose development varies according to existing climatic conditions, development of the plant can be divided into 3 stages: germination; early growth and foliage formation; simultaneous formation of foliage and thickening of roots.
