Fugacity concept use for prediction of carbofuran environmental behaviour in irrigated rice crops.

The objectives of this work were to use the level IV fugacity model to simulate the environmental fate of carbofuran as employed in rice cultivation. The fugacity model was used to simulate the dynamic distribution of the carbofuran in a system comprising air, water, rice plants and soil. Results indient the preferential compartiments of the pesticide, facilitating the strategies for monitoring environmental quality, and providing further knowledge of the environmental fate of carbofuran. Experiments under field conditions were carrid out to verify the correspondence between simulated and measured values of carbofuran concetration in water and soil
