Use of linear programming in formulating low-cost rations for grazing ruminant supplementation

This work proposes an alternative model of linear programming for least cost ration formulation to consider the substitution forage - concentrate. The basic model consists in 5 restrictions and 2+n variables, where n is the number of supplements. In the moder dry matter intake of pasture without supplementation and substitution rate are a static value, while the intake of supplements and pasture with supplementation are variables has been determine. This article exemplifies the utility of propose model front traditional models.
