NEW RECORDS OF PHIMOPHIS GUIANENSIS TROSCHEL, 1848 (SQUAMATA: DIPSADIDAE) FOR PANAMA

In this work, the elevational distribution of the Burrowing Snake (Phimophis guianensis) is expanded and an updated distribution map in the Republic of Panama is presented. Four specimens of P. guianensis deposited in the Colección Zoológica Dr. Eustorgio Méndez were reviewed, obtaining additional information in databases available on the Internet, literature and personal observations, showing a list of 28 localities. Five museum specimens and four photographs were obtained, not previously recorded in the literature, of which eight belong to new records for P. guianensis in the country. This list includes the first two localities for the province of Veraguas. New records are also added for the provinces of Coclé, Los Santos, Panamá Oeste and Panamá.
