Comparative of the leaf anatomy of Piper tucumanum C. DC and Piper hieronymi C. DC. (Piperaceae) Tucumán-Argentina

Lilloa 42 (1-2). Two species of Piper: P. tucumanum C. DC. and P. hieronymi C. DC. are cited from Tucumán. These species have similar appearance but they have different morphological features. The aim of this paper is to compare the leaf anatomy of P. tucumanum and P. hieronymi in the province of Tucumán. The results show that leaf anatomical characters help to identify these species. Leaf anatomy of P. hieronymi is described for the first time and new characters of P. tucumanum are given.
