Conceived Space vs lived space. Piscu Yaco Dam. (Cortaderas, San Luis, Argentina)

From the perspective of Henri Lefebvre, this research describes the conflicts that various agents involved in the spatial production process have in the case study of the Piscu Yaco Dam, in Cortaderas, San Luis province. The creation of a new tourist attractor implies decision-making and positions that produce tensions among different actors, according to the way in which they identify, signify, and make use of that space. Regarding this tourist product, the town has evidenced a practically continuous population increase due to the migration of amenities, resulting in a real estate revaluation in areas of great landscape value demanded by investors, which, due to the insufficiency of state controls of urban regulations and environmental regulations generate greater inequality in terms of access to land and the public use of common goods. The study had a qualitative approach with an exploratory and descriptive scope, from the perspective of space analysis, the conceived space and the lived space are investigated, considering the public policies of land use and sale, and the imaginaries of local actors through in-depth interviews and analyzing the relevant legislation.
