Historic Centre, Tourism and Urban Mobility: Conceptual analysis

This article seeks to understand the relationship between urban mobility, tourism and historic centres from a theoretical standpoint. Urban mobility and historic centres have become a challenge for public administration, as they are in vogue in the most diverse countries of the world. Therefore, this article aims to understand the relationship between historical heritage, tourism and urban mobility in historic centres by means of a contemporary theory. As regards methodology, this qualitative research is characterised as descriptive, exploratory and also bibliographic with a qualitative analysis. The results show that the relationship between tourism, urban mobility and historic centres represents a challenge for public administration and implies heritage adaptation to the new demands of current society and technology, in a collective effort to make the historic territory accessible.
