Economic analysis of a honey production unit, located in the Antilhue

The beekeeping activity is highlighted by presenting a broad range of products, of which the honey presents a greater relevance in the market, mainly by its nutritional characteristics that the cataloged as a healthy food. For this reason, at the global level, has been generated a greater demand of this product, however, at the national level, does not occur in the same way, because there is a low consumption, making the item highly dependent on the international market. The domestic supply is formed mainly by small producers, who wield less 100 hives. For these reasons, it is analyzed technically and economically a productive unit of honey, located in the sector Antilhue, Rivers Region. The venue, owns 170 hives and aims to increase their productive capacity in 320 hives, its increased production, is intended for the Cooperative Apicoop Limited in drums of 300 kilos to bulk, while a smaller quantity is sold on the domestic market in formats of a kilo. Subsequently, an evaluation was conducted economic-financial, where were analyzed the following economic indicators, obtaining; a VABN of $9,227.594, an IRR of 10%, Reason Criterion Recovery Period is the fifth year, cost benefit ratio of 1.2 and point of balance of 22%, concluding that this activity is profitable. Finally, a sensitivity and risk analysis was carried out, in which it was concluded that a sale scenario with exclusivity to a cooperative, for this case Apicoop, will be more sensitive and risky for the producer, than to market to cooperatives and individual sales simultaneously.
