ANATOMÍA FOLIAR DE CUATRO ESPECIES FORESTALES
RESUMENSe realizó el estudio de la anatomía foliar de las especies Cedrela odorata, Cordia thaisiana,Swietenia macrophylla y Tabebuia rosea, con el fin de definir algunos caracteres devalor adaptativo para la sobrevivencia de las mismas. Se utilizó material fresco de hojas expuestas,y se preparó siguiendo procedimientos clásicos para el estudio anatómico. Todas lasespecies presentan hojas hipostomáticas, con estomas anomocíticos y mesofilo bifacial, ademásde vainas vasculares que se extienden a ambos lados de la lámina foliar. Se presenta unacombinación de características anatómicas mesomorfas y xeromorfas, que se podrían explicarpor el sitio de estudio, que presenta altas tasas de radiación y buena disponibilidad de agua.ABSTRACTIn order to determine the anatomical traits that enable Cedrela odorata, Cordia thaisiana,Swietenia macrophylla and Tabebuia rosea to survive in tropical environments, acomparative study regarding the leaf anatomy was carried out. Study material consistedof exposed fresh leaves, which were collected, fixated and prepared according to classicalmethods of plant anatomy. These four species have hypostomatic leaves, anomocyticstomata and a bifacial mesophyll, with projections of the vascular bundle sheaths to bothsurfaces. All species share a combination of both mesomorphic and xeromorphic features,which are very likely the result of an adaptation to the high irradiation rates and abundantwater supply that characterized the study site.
