Etiología de las pudriciones de capsulas y semillas de achiote, Bixa orellana l. En dos regiones de Colombia
Capsule rotting of achiote, Bixa orellana, are common in all varieties found in différents locations of the north Coast and the depar- tament of Valle del Cauca (Colombia). The responsables of such a- ffections were Green Sterile Mycelium, Fusarium and Colletotrichum. These genus and others such as Pénicillium, Aspergillus, White Sterile Mycelium, Cladosporium and Alternaria were also found in seeds from these capsules. However just Fusarium and Green Sterile Mycelium were detected in such high frecuencies that they could be regarded as importants in seed rotting and low seed germination percentages. These genus were also found growing from recently harvested and stora- ged seeds planted on malta- salt- agar. Fusarium showed delete- reous effects on seed germination but not on seedling rotting
