Evaluación de tres sistemas de preparación del suelo para cuatro materiales de yuca (Manihot esculenta Crantz)

The objetives of the experiment were: to compare the effect of three land preparation systems on productivity of cassava crop as well as the effect on physical properties of the soil; and to compare the energy balance in cassava production. The systems studied were: high tillage level (one disc plow at 30 cm, two heavy harrow at 15-30 cm, one light disc harrow, levees at 1.0 m distance and 0.30 m height), medium tillage level (one chicel plow at 40 cm, one heavy disc harrow, levees), and low tillage level (levees). The experiment designe was ramdon blocks with eight replications. The highest yield was 34.74 t/ha on the medium tillage level system, next was 31.77 t/ha with high tillage level system and the lowest yield was 31.08 t/ha with the low tillage level system. The medium tillage level of this experiment gave the best land physical alternative for the crop-under study. This conclusion is also valid from the energy and economical analysis; nevertheless, the low tillage, level gave the best energy efficiency ratio
