Análisis panbiogeográfico de la flora de Chiribiquete, Colombia

The historical relationships of the Sierra de Chiribiquete were studied using the panbiogeographical approach. The compatibility tracks method produced 176 cliques (generalized tracks). The largest included the individual tracks of 15 species and links Chiribiquete to the Guayana region and Amazonia. Cliques of 14 species link additional regions such as Brazilian Shield, Andes, Chocó, Colombian Llanos Orientales and Central America. The Mesa de Araracuara, the Circasia-Yambí-Macú complex in Colombia and the Peneplains of Casiquiare in Venezuela showed a better historical relation ship with the Sierra de Chiribiquete. The generalized tracks suggest that the origin of the Chiribiquete flora is very old and is related to the geology of the Guayanan shield.
