A new record and redescription of Schizopera (Schizopera) knabeni (Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Miraciidae) from north-western Mexico
Specimens of Schizopera Sars, 1905 were found during sampling in 2 brackish systems in central and southern Sinaloa (north-western Mexico). The specimens turned out to belong to Schizopera (Schizopera) knabeni Lang, 1965 which was originally described from Monterey Bay (the type locality) and is known from Cocodrie (Louisiana). Amendments to Lang's (1965) original description and Fiers and Rutledge's (1990) partial redescription are given.
