Personal characteristics and factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention of mothers of families

This research analyzes the entrepreneurial intention in mothers of beneficiary families of Movimiento Fe y Alegría in the northern area of Bucaramanga, Santander. The analysis is made to a total of 20 population groups taking into account sociodemographic factors; namely, age, number of children, marital status, educational level and employment status. Based on interpreting how personal characteristics and environmental factors influence the entrepreneurial intention of the object of study. The methodology used was a quantitative research, with a descriptive approach and a non-experimental and cross-sectional study design. The most representative findings provide evidence of a positive predisposition for the creation of business units, mediated by personal characteristics inherent to risks, listening skills, internal locus of control, problem solving, discipline and passion, as well as environmental factors related to family support. At the same time, the mothers' interest in receiving training, mainly in administration, entrepreneurship, and beauty, is highlighted.
