TWO LEPIDOPTEROUS PESTS OF GRASSES IN TABASCO, MEXICO

The purpose of this work is to identify two lepidopterous that defoliate the grasses Star of Africa (Cynodon plectostachyus Pilger) and Para (Brachiaria mutica Stapf.) in the State of Tabasco, México. The species found were Mocis latipes (Guenée) and Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith), two species of the family Noctuidae. Additionally, foliar damage caused by M. latipes on coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) is recorded.
