Message of the Editor
Upon embarking on the thirteenth year of publication of Latin American Archives of Animal Production, this is a propitious time to briefly review its history and make projections for the foreseeable future. The first journal of the “Assocación Latinoamericana de Producción Animal”, which was titled “ALPA Memoria”, had its beginning in 1966, the same year in which the Association was founded. Dr. Jorge de Alba of Mexico served as its editor for the first 10 years, after which it had several other editors of brief tenure until finalizing with Volume 23, which corresponded to 1988, although this last issue was published several years behind schedule.
