1. Eugenia Charles, Prime Minister of Dominica, recently concluded a European tour which involved the ACP/EEC Council of Ministers Meeting in Brussels and discussions in London with John Major, Prime Minister of the UK. In a live in-studio interview with Hugh Crosskill, the local politics in Dominica is discussed which features comments from Eddison James, leader of the opposition in Dominica. The interview also covers the protection of Dominica’s banana industry after 1992 with the formation of the European single market. Ms. Charles responds to the views of Eddison James on the banana economy and Frank Walter, President of the Farmers Union in Dominica is interviewed by Sandra Baptiste. At the end of the report, Ms. Charles briefly comments on the proposal to move the Caricom Secretariat from Guyana and the commitment of Caricom to regional integration (00:00-14:51)
