Acciones antihelmintica, larvicida y ovicida del oxibendazol contra ostertagia ostertagi, cooperia oncophora y cooperia mcmasteri, en terneras infestadas experimentalmente.

[ENG]Eighteen calves eight to nine months old experimenlally infected wilh autochthonous strains of Ostertogin ostertagi, Cooperia onccphora and Cooperin McMasteri, were treated at a single dose of 15 mg/kg body weight of Oxibendazol (metyl-5-n-proposy-2-benzimidazolcarbamate). The efficacy of the drug on reduction of egg counts, and on immature and mature worms was statistically evaluated. Reduction of egg counts was strongly significant from 24 h. (89,42 %) and continue at 48 h., 72 h. and 8 days. The action on the vitallity of the eggs was highly efficacious (100 %), on eggs collected at 12 h. and 72 h. after treatment. There was no activity againts early 4th stage larvae of O. ostertagi but on late 4th larvae of this worm reduction of 51,18 % was noted. On the same stages of Cooperia spp larvae reductions of 92,63 % and 100 % were obtained. Average reductions of adults worms reached high Ievels (99,14 % and 99,79 % on O. ostertagi and Cooperia spp respectively). Undesirable effects due to treatment were not observed.
