The effect of oxalate and lactate anions on phosphorus retention in Canary soils

This is a study related to the effect of oxalate and lactate application on the phosphorus retention of four Tenerife soils. It is found that level of applied lactate or oxalate is determinig in the reduction of P sorption, percentages above 20% being achieved. The reduction in these sorption capacities are: for lactate 1l-36%, 6-10%, 4-53% and 36-44%; for oxilate 46-49%, 9-22%, 61-64% and 29-30% for andept, alfisol from Llanadas, alfisol from La Esperanza and oxisol respectively.
