Caractrísticas químicas de los suelos de platanos de Tenerife

The relation between pH, organic matter, available P2O3 and changeable Na. Ca and Mg in the soils of the most representative banana zones of the island of Tenerife are studied. The dependence of the pH on the content of changeable Na and Mg and the percentage of organic matter is pointed out. Due to these relations there is a progresive increase of the acidity of the best attended and highest producing plantations. The variations in the contents of organic matter and available P$O, are related since hoth depend on the age of the plantations. The contents of changeable Na and Mg are high varying both contents in the same way.
