Intercropping boosts food production: maize-beans and maize-cowpea intercropping in the Noreste.

Intercropping is a traditional method of cultivation widely practised by larmers rn tropical developinq countries. Whilst in arid and semi-arid areas its is very common with annual basic food crops, in lhe humid tropics it is done wilh perennial crops and cash crops.
