Mechanisation in oil palm plantations.
Some of the mechanical operations and equipment in use in Malaysian oil palm plantations are described, including in-field fresh-fruit-bunch collection, drain construction with rotary ditchers, a mechanical fertilizer spreader, palm oil mill effluent application equipment, and sprayers. Operational costs are included in the discussion. This paper was presented at the Lower Perak Branch Seminar entitled "Plantation industry in the industrial era: increasing productivity through effective and efficient management", held on 27 July 1995.
