Amidst the crisis and fear, a passport to the future
Agriculture is the only sector which, in many countries, continued operating without inter- ruptions during the pandemic. Despite the global fall in trade and the difficulties caused by the virus, it managed to increase exports and reasserted its strategic role. We celebrate World Agriculture Day amid one of the worst crisis in recent memory. The pandemic has created –and will create– more poverty, inequality and social distress, but has not stopped food production or supply.
