Grown for a bin

According to the FAO 2011 global study one third of the world's food goes to waste - the largest part thereof in the industrialized nations of the global north. Globally, chronic hunger is on the rise, increasing from an estimated 777 million in 2015 to 815 million people in 2016. The photo series in the "Grown for a Bin" describes the connection between individual wastage of food and globalized food production. Rotting food, arranged into elaborate still lifes, portrays an abstract picture of the wastage of food whilst the accompanying texts take a more in depth look at the roots of this issue.
