Participación de los agricultores en adaptar y evaluar tecnologías de semilleros contra la mosca blanca (Bemisia tabaci), en tomate

A methodology of participatory research was used to select, adapt, and test seedbed management technologies, aimed at protection tomato seedlings from whitefly-borne geminiviruses. Growers compared in their farms several combinations of covering nets and trays, with direct planting, which were improved according to their previous experiences and during the trials. Even though direct planting was the best treatment, reaching high yields, growers judged that covered seedbeds have great potential, but need additional improvements in some agronomic aspects
