Hands On is a quarterly news-letter published by the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Africa (FSDA), which is:a charitable trust aimed at promoting the formation and functioning of dynamic, self-sustaining communities through effective networking. 'It is essential that Africa realizes that continued reliance on outside assistance directly contradicts the notions of sustainabilty and selfsufficiency. We do not have to wait for development to come to us. It is an activity that must start with the individual, be refined through trial and error and disseminated by proven success' runs a pagraph in the editoria1 of the first issue (March 1992) which sums up the philosopy and aims of the newsletter.
