Efecto de la aplicación tardía del nitrógeno en el cultivar de caña H32-8560. III. Acción de la misma con relación a la aplicación temprana en la calidad y nutrimentos en la planta

In Mocollope and Bolognesi fields of the Casa Grande Agrarian ProductionCooperative, two experiment were done Fields were located in Chicama valley, in the northern coast of Perú. N (urea) applications were made al lates of 100, 175, 250, 325 and 400 kg/ha in Mocollope field, and 235, 310, 385, 460 and 535 kg/ha in Bolognesi field. Early fertilization heatments were made by applying the total fertilizers 20 days after cutting and 48 days after planting in Mocollope and Bolognesi respectively. Late fertilization healments were fractionated, applying 65 per cent al fist irrigation and the remainder 35 per cent at 105 months cane age in Mocollope, and 74 per cent at seventh inigation and the remainder 26 per cent af 10 months cane age in Bolognesi. No significant differences between total ely and late fractionated applications were found for non quality characteristis and for plant nutrient. High N rates did not influence significantly sucrose (determined by polarimetry, otberwise named pol), purity, refractometric index (brix), reducing sugars, fibre and bumidity in Bolognesi field. High N rates significatively influenced pol percentage and hiix per cent in Mocollope field. Moreover, it was found a significant increment in plant humidity and a plant N content increment with N rates Phosphous in plant decreased with N applications in Mocollope but not so in Bolognesi. Absolute plant nutrient values al harvest are not good indicators of sugarcane yields; and at a larger plant humidily a greater juice dilution, which explains the N negative effect in smgarcane quality.
