Análisis de las tendencias en temperatura del aire extrema y precipitación diaria en la costa ecuatoriana

In this paper, daily series of maximum and minimum temperatures and precipitation were analyzed from seven meteorological stations located in the coastal area of Ecuador. The study period was between 1976 and 2015(forty years of information). The objective was to determine, through climate indices suggested by the climate experts, the existence of any climate change trend in the Ecuadorian coastal zone. The calculation of the indices concluded that there was no trend of decrease in temperature. However, at least four of the extreme temperature indices demonstrated a significantly tendency to increase the temperature. Also, precipitation rates consistently showed a downward trend
