Production of Syrah wines in tropical conditions of Northeast Brazil.

The Lower-middle São Francisco, located approximately between the 8° and 15° S latitude, presents a semi-arid climate (Tonietto & Teixeira, 2004), and it is one of the five physiographic regions of the São FranciscoBasin(between 7° and 21° Slatitude), in the Northeast Brazil. Inside the Lower-middle São Francisco, vitiviniculture has been developed since 1980'5 in an area between 8° and 10° S latitude, which is commonly refered as São Francisco Valley.
