Cotton growing and farms in Makhatini Flats, South Africa, in 2002-03 season

Data pertaining to a survey conducted in 2003 to capture smallholders' conditions and practices in growing GM cotton integrating Bt genes, after such a cotton was commercially released in South Africa in 1998. At the time of the survey in the Makhatini Flats, agriculture was conducted by Zulu people on small holdings and was an activity little appreciated by the youngsters.
