Sanidad de la palma de aceite : Diagnóstico e investigación integral liderada por el gremio palmero Colombiano.
One of the major events for the Colombian oil palm sector is the National Congress of Oil Palm Growers. For year 2007, its XXXV version was fulfilled in Cali, and within their academic activities, a realistic diagnostic about healthiness of oil palm cultivation was presented. Three critical topics were considered. The first one, a general diagnostic of oil palm diseases, in particular, root and stem rots, bud rot disease and lethal wilt. In second place, a brief description was done about the main pests attacking the oil palm cultivars. Finally, it was presented the long-term research strategy leaded by Cenipalma, including aspects such as breeding, support of biotechnology in phytopathology and general statements on specific-site agriculture.
