Sexual behavior in Tetrasarus plato (Coleoptera: cerambycidae)

Sexual behavior of Tetrasarus plato under field and laboratory conditions is described. Our observations showed no precopulatory courtship behavior and males typically approach females directly and attempt to mount and copulate. Females are forced to copulate through male aggressive behavior that could lead to leg or antenna mutilation. Advantages in female guarding, after and before mating, are discussed.
