Anfinómidos y Eufrosínidos (Polychaeta) del Caribe Mexicano con claves para las especies reconocidas del Gran Caribe

Six amphinomid and one euphrosinid species from Quintana Roo, Mexican Caribbean coasts, are reported. The species of Amphinomidae are Amphinome rostrata (Pallas, 1766), Eurythoe complanata (Pallas, 1766), Hermodice carunculata (Pallas, 1766), Hipponoa gaudichaudi Audouin & Milne-Edwards, 1830, Linopherus canariensis Langerhans, 1881, and Notopygos crinita Grube, 1855. Type materials of four other species, Chloenopsis atlantica (McIntosh, 1885), Hipponoa gaudichaudi agulhana Day, 1967, Notopygos megalops McIntosh, 1885, and Pareurythoe americana Hartman, 1951, are reviewed; the two later ones are synonymyzed, one with the parental form and the other with N. crinita. A key to the 14 amphinomid species recorded for the Grand Caribbean is included. Euphrosinid polychaetes are close relatives of amphinomids but because of their low abundance they are less known. The only species found in Mexican Caribbean waters is Euphrosine triloba Ehlers, 1887, collected close to Banco Chinchorro by a submersible. A key to the known species in the Grand Caribbean is appended.
