Evaluation of coffee drying systems with air heated by water vapour, eucalyptus firewood and liquid gas petroleum

Results of trials comparing different sources of energy (water vapour in a water/air heat exchanger, eucalyptus firewood and LPG) for heating air for drying coffee beans, and comparing vertical and horizontal driers, indicated that energy consumption was lowest with LPG and lower in a horizontal drier than a vertical drier. All drying systems resulted in similar beverage quality.
