Effect of Merniel, a foliar-coating material, on coffee leaf rust under greenhouse conditions :

Treatment of coffee leaves with Merniel, a surface adjuvant which forms polymeric layers on plant surfaces, reduced infection by Hemileia vastatrix, the causal agent of coffee leaf rust. The protective effect of Merniel, which was dependent on concentration and time of application, seemed to be due to a reduction in uredioniospore germination
