Influencia da temperatura na patogenicidade e reprodu©ʹao de Meloidogyne exigua em mudas de cafeeiro

The influence of temperature on the pathogenicity and reproduction of Meloidogyne exigua in coffee seedlings was studied. Each plant was inoculated with 5.000 egs and was kept in growth chambers at 16ð, 20ð and 28ðC for ninety days. Gall formation was higher at 24ð and 28ð whereas reproduction, measured by egg numbers, was greater al 20ð and 24ðC. Top and root weight, root system size, plant height and number of leaves per plant were all affected by temperatures but not by the nematodes, probably due to the short exposure period between plants and nematodes
