Comportamento de linhagens de cafeeiros (Coffea arabica L.) em Ouro Preto d'Oeste-Rondonia

A coffee trial was set up in Ouro Preto D'Oeste, Rondonia, in order to evaluate the performance of several publications of the cultivars Mundo Novo, Acaia and Icatu of Coffea arabica. These populations were selected at the Instituto Agronomico, Campinas, SP. A rendomized complete block design was used with 11 treatments, six replications, and two sites per plot. Plant height, canopy diameter, yield of dry fruits, empty fruits and seed types and size were evaluated. At this locale the average monthly temperature is 25.2{eth}C, the relative humidity is 82.1, and the annual rainfall is 2,038.8 mm. Under these conditions the seven year old plants attained an average height of 3.26 to 3.71 m and a canopy diameter of 2.26 to 2.64 m. Mundo Novo populations LCP 464-6, LCP 515-20 and LCMP 386-2-4 had the highest average yields (1979-1983), a reduced percentage of empty fruits, and a high percentage of normal flat beans. Seeds of these populations are being released to the farmers in this coffee region
