Performance of Arabica coffee in the small holdings of Pulneys Hills as influenced by fertilizers and soil fertility

Preliminary investigations on the yield pattern of Arabica in the small holdings of Pulney Hills by random selection revealed that inadequate fertiliser inputs could be the primary causative factor for the poor performance of plants in many of the estates where hill banana was the primary intercrop till recently. Statistical analysis indicated positive linear correlation between added nutrient elements and yields. Soil reaction and available K were found to have a positive correlation with yield whereas soil P failed to show any relationship with yield. Soil analysis further indicated that the influence of added P and K was not reflected in the soil test value
