Colletotrichum occurring on Coffea arabica; a review
Three species of Colletotrichum which invade different parts of coffea in East and Central Africa are discussed. Colletotrichum coffeanum causing coffee berry disease (CBD) infects green berries. Colletotrichum acutatum exists saprophytically on high altitude coffee in Kenya, usually associated with the pathogen Colletotrichum coffeanum. The most common species. Colletotrichum glocosporioides, occurs all over coffee growing areas causing die-back of branches, anthracnose of leaves and brown blight of ripe berries. The occurrence, historial development, epidemiology, losses and control of these pathogenic fungi are described
