Avaliacao preliminar de sistemas agroflorestais no Projeto Agua Verde, Albrás, Barcarena, Pará
This paper has the objective of evaluating the initial behabiour of Agroforestry Systems (AFSs), at an age of 32 months, established at the "Agua Verde" Project, of the ALBRAS Company, Barcarena, State of Pará, where cupuassu trees (Theobroma grandiflorum) are intercropped simultaneously with forest species used for permanent shading and different varieties of banana (Musa spp.) for temporary shading; while peach palms (Bactris gasipaes H.B.K.) are intercropped with different varieties of banana plants. At the "Agua Verde" Project, which has the goal of developing alternatives for economic activities, at the level of family agriculture, to serve as models for the community which lives in areas surrounding ALBRAS, seeking to contribute to sustainable development and preservation of biodiversity, an agroforestry module was established in an area of approximately one hectare. In this module three sets of plants were defined for evaluation.
