Effect of partial soil sterilization on the growth on the cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) seedling in the nursery
Encontraram-se aumentos significativos de crescimento em plantulas das variedades Comum e Cotonyo, mantidas em solos parcialmente esterilizados quando comparadas com aquelas mantidas em solos livremente infestados com os nematóides Xiphinema setarial Luc, 1958, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White, 1919) Chitwood, 1949 e Helicotylenchos dihystera (Cobb 1893) Sher, 1961, em experimento realizado no Centro de Pesquisas do Cacau, Bahia, Brasil, em 1971/72. Os cultivares Cotonyo e Comum cresceram de modo semelhante em solo livremente infestado; já em solo esterilizado, o Cotonyo apresentou melhor performance
