Medida de densidade de sombreamento em cacauais com base em fotografias aéreas
The potential usefulness of aerial photographs for evaluation the degree of canopy cover from shade trees in cacao plantations is being studied by comparing aerial photo-images with field observations. Four shade patterns (10, 20, 30 and 40 percent of canopy cover) were set up on stereograms. Due to variability in crown diameter, height of the shade trees and their spatial distribution in the field no correlation was found between the number of shade trees and the levels at canopy cover. The dispersion of the series corresponding to the 30 percent level was the most uniform. Skill developed through practice should over-come the difficulties in using the stereograms with density patterns
