Aspectos fitossociol©đgicos de uma floresta natural de Astronium balansae Encl., no Rio Grande do Sul
The Astronium balansae Engl. (pau-ferro) forest is studied regarding to the floristic composition and phytosociological structure. It was investigated an area of 4,500 mø, divided in three samples, near of the town of Sao Borja, west region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. This forest type is relatively homogeneous. Nineteen wood species were found, of which Astronium balansae Engl. is the most characteristic and important of the association.
