Composicao florística e estrutura fitossociológica da floresta tropical ombrófila da encosta atlántica no municipio de Morretes (Paraná)

A quantitative survey was made of a Humid Atlantic Coastal Forest located at Morretes, PR. The climate of the region is of the type Cfa according to the Koeppen's classification. The soil is slightly acid and is classified as a sandy clay with clay loam texture. The point-centred quarter method was used. Sociological parameters of density, frequency, dominance and importance were assessed. Among the 70 species, 55 genera and 31 families recorded, the most important species were: Ficus organensis, Guapira opposita, Hieroyma alchornoides, Cabralea canjerana and Mollinelia sp. The oustanding families were: Myrtaceae, Rubiaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Meliaceae. The vegetation presents three strata: inferior, mid-level and superior. Among 16 diameter classes observed, discontinuity ocurred only in the largest diameter class. The community is part of a forest subjected to human interference.
