Incidence of bovine tuberculosis and its effect on certain blood indixes in dairy cattle of Bangladesh :

Intradermal tuberculin test used to detect the incidence of bovine tuberculosis in non-organized and organized farms of Bangladesh revealed 3.05 per cent overall incidence of tuberculosis. Higher rate of infection was recorded in organized farm (5.54 per cent) than in rural areas (2.34 per cent), females (4.30 per cent) than males (1.63 per cent), cross-bred (7.80 per cent) than indigenous (2.10 per cent) and over 5 years (3.73 per cent) than 1 to 5 years (1.87 per cent) cattle. The haematological values showed significantly (P Minus than 0.01) increased total leukocytic count, lymphocyte percentage and erythrocyte sedimentation rate, whereas the haemoglobin, total erythrocytic count and neutrophil percentage were significantly less than in the normal healthy control cattle
