La maladie des taches brunes du tubercule d'igname en Cote d'Ivoire

Dioscorea alata tubers harvested in Central Ivory Coast show very often numerous brown spots inside, the taste of the tubers is affected and these tubers cannot be consumed. Hypothesis on the cause of these spots are various, the phenomenon is attributed either to virus infections, or to soil conditions. Trials have been realised in order to understand the origin of these brown spots, and it is possible to eliminate the hypothesis of a disease linked to soil conditions. More and more a pathogen belonging to viruses seems to be involved
