Use of highly prolific breeds and crossbreeding

The aim of this paper is to review highly prolific sheep breeds and their use in different crossbreeding programmes. Prolific sheep are characterized by high fertility and fecundity values. Both, mainly the litter size, vary greatly between breeds, as well as with season, age and nutrition
