Community based resources management: a philippine experience

The study proposed that an appropriate land-use plan be prepared for the watershed allowing buffer zones for the old growth forest, which was less than 10 of the 6.720 hectares of total watershed area. Agroforestry will be allowed so those farmers can continue to have a source of livelihood. Selective harvesting of trees was also suggested. To accomplish this, a loan package to be accessed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) was proposed. The Regional Development Council had approved the proposal after it was defended in several committees
