Teliospores of Hemileia vastatrix :
Teliospores of Hemileia vastatrix were observed on Coffea arabica leaves at the end of the dry, winter months in South Africa. A scanning electron microscopy study revealed that teliospores are predicellate, smooth, spherical or napiform with a terminal papilla. They are borne on teliosporophores or separately. Teliospores germinate in situ producing a promycelium from which four spherical basidiospores are formed.
